August 29, 2007

The roster has been updated. There is also a new video from Eagle Claw.

August 28, 2007

A few minor updates. The biggest, we have modified our email to use a google group! This should simplify our email list and let everyone in the troop use a current list. A link has been added to the menu.

August 11, 2007

A lot of changes and additions. The latest Year in Review Video is posted. There is also a new option in the secure area to be able to post photos that are taken at camp outs. You no longer need to email the photos, they can be uploaded to the web page and I will be automatically notified by email. Photos from the last few camp outs also are posted.

February 28, 2007

A lot of background changes. We have EAGLES!!! Actually, we've had a lot of Eagle Scouts over the years, I just finally had time to give them the recognition they deserve with a page of their own. The Seabase Spring Break 2008 page has been started and will be updated as information and planning is available.

November 23, 2006

The re-write of the web site is complete. Lots of behind the scenes changes to keep it running faster and easier to maintain. A new video has been added from Woodbadge.

The web page menus are finished and seem to work correctly. The merit badge workbooks are now available in pdf or word formats.

July 6, 2006

The web page now has new menus. The original pages are still present, but slide out menus have been added to the vertical menus. This should make navigating many of the pages easier. Photos from Summer camp have been added.

June 18, 2006

I have added links for most Merit Badge Workbooks. These workbooks are through MeritBadge.com and updated whenever they update their workbooks. These workbooks are extremely useful when working on merit badges.

June 15 2006

We have a new fund raising opportunity. We are now an associate of e-bay.com . The troop will get a percentage of any winning bids you place at e-bay that are made through our link.

We only get credit for the sale if you go through our link on the fundraising page.
See the fundraising page for details. There is also more information about Order of the Arrow.

The e-bay and Amazon opportunities are entirely optional, but an easy way for the troop to make money if you already purchase items either through e-bay or Amazon.

May 2, 2006

A MAJOR rewrite of the web page has been done. The frames are no longer, and a cleaner, sleaker look replaces it. I'm still looking for bugs and errors as I'm sure they are there with this large of a rewrite. Literally, almost every page was modified.

March 23, 2006

The latest camp outs have been posted. New pictures from the Cedar View cabin have been posted. This will be an exciting project for Troop 55 as we decide what to do with the cabin, fund raise, and do the construction project. Follow the pictures as the project developes.

March 3, 2006

Minor changes have been made along the way. The Merit Badge Counselor page has been rewritten and corrected to be current. More photos have been added.
The Pack 55 web site is in good hands with Dave and Carson. check out the link.

December 19, 2005

Minor changes have been made along the way. I have added a "what happened today" section on the front page. A lot of time has been spent over the last month helping to put together the Pack 55 web site. It's up and running, check out the link. Hopefully this will help them run smoothly and get information out easier to everyone. I believe, getting all of the information to everyone from one central location may be the biggest benefit of this and any scout web page.

October 18 2005

Under the Patrol tab is a new option to look at descriptions and duties of each Leadership Position of Responsibility. Pictures from the Ulfers' camp out have also been posted.

October 5, 2005

The printable schedule has been updated and is correct for 2005-2006. Pictures from the fall camporee have been posted.

August 24 2005

We finally have pictures from the March Sea Base trip. Looks like a lot of fun. The schedule has been updated for the 2005-2006 year. Flambeau pictures will be posted as I get them.

August 1 2005

One of the benefits of the new web site is lots of space and lots of bandwidth. I have added a video of the life of Troop 55 over the last year. It's amazing how much we've done! And I believe the best is yet to come. I think we have only started to tap the potential of Troop 55.

July 28 2005

I have changed the monthly calendar to a version that wouldn't work on our old site. This one is much nicer! There is a link to the monthly calendar on the main navigation page. A few more bugs were fixed - I think they are all gone, but you never know.

July 26 2005

We've MOVED!! We are now on a new server and have our own direct address. No more long names to type. It's also faster and about 150 times the space. We had run out of space on the old site.

July 12 2005

The web page has been rewritten. It will now view at 1024x800 and 800x600 without needing the horizontal scrollbar. For those using the lower resolution, this should make viewing much easier.

July 7, 2005

Our site has been honored with a few more awards.
Pictures from summer camp are posted. The minutes of the Troop Committee meeing held at summer camp are posted. It seems hard to believe, but our page has been up nearly one year and we are out of space. I have moved some of the older photos to another site, but they can still be viewed inside our web page. We are looking into more space.

June 17, 2005

Our site has been honored with a few more awards.
A major rewrite of the site has been done. While the appearance has not changed, the site loads and runs faster.
The minutes from the last PLC meeting have been posted.
Several of the long pages have been broken up with links added.
The awards page has been modified into several pages.
As our web page has progressed and been improved, the privacy policy and copyright had lagged behind. A much improved privacy, copyright and disclosure policy added. Great efforts have been made to keep the web page consistant with the web page guidelines issued by the BSA.

June 7, 2005

A few Merit Badges have been updated. The scout advancement has been updated to being current with the last Court of Honor. We have an Award Page and have been honored with several awards. Our site is certified by several organizations as child safe and family friendly.
We have humor - I found a few good files of scouting jokes. Some of them seem a little too true.
I have posted Baden-Powell quotes on the main page.
I also posted a draft of the code of conduct.

May 24, 2005

We finally have pictures of most of the patrols (check the pictures carefully as there are some surprises). The remainder will be added as they are available. Thanks to Lynnette for the pictures! More camping photos have been added. A HUGE thank you to all that take and send pictures from the camp outs and activities as they only make the web page better. I have added an Advancement Procedure area in the Parent's Information. Hopefully this will clarify the process and make it easier to follow.

May 5, 2005

I have added a new calendar to the web page. On the schedule is a link for "the month at a glance". This lists all of the Troop 55 activities for the coming month.

May 3, 2005

The PLC met tonight and put together an AWESOME schedule for the next year!!! Thanks guys for all of your work - it looks like an awesome year of camping and activities! The announcement section continues to be tweaked. Merit badge activities have been updated with the latest information.

April 29, 2005

I removed the marque on the front page and replaced it with an announcment section. This can still be easily modified. Depending upon which people like better, either can be kept on the site - I am just experimenting with something different. The April Committee Meeting Minutes are posted.

April 15, 2005

The activity menu has been modified. I added a picture fade at the top of the menu. I think it adds a nice look to the page and helps show what we are about. The pictures will be rotated periodically. The merit badge procedure was updated to be consistant with how Dan and Kathy would like to do them. Sam has his first PLC report posted. Pictures from Yellow River Forest Park are posted.

March 23, 2005

DRAGONS!! We've got Dragons! The new scouts are here and their patrol has formed. The Patrol page now lists the Dragons. They are added to the Leadership section as well. The Merit Badge activity has been busy lately with lots of scouts taking part in many of the badges.

March 23, 2005

It's finally there! The individual advancement reports for each scout are now available in the secure login section. I will try and update these records on a monthly basis.

March 19, 2005

Changed all of the text on the left frame to buttons. I think it gives the page a cleaner look. The new scouts are here! The Patrol pages will be updated as soon as they have a Patrol name. I updated the Leadership pages with a few changes. I added the New Adult advisors for the new scouts. Jeff has agreed to become the second webmaster.

March 4, 2005

New camping pages for the Klondike Derby, Ice Fishing and the January camp out were added. The form for sending advancement information was completely redone. The old version had a few problems, this new version will hopefully work better.

February 14, 2005

The schedule has been modified to show the change in date of the start of new scouts and the change in date of the Court of Honor. There is now an area that lists upcoming fund raising activities. This committee will give the scouts a great opportunity to raise money for their activities. There is also a new area added for future placement of the Troop Service Projects. Added a scout statistics page with interesting facts about those who become boy scouts.

January 19, 2005

After several suggestions, the agendas for each Committee meeting will be posted under the secure access portion of our web page with the minutes of PLC and Committee meetings.

January 4, 2005

Just minor tweaks. Dan sent a copy of the template for each future Troop Meeting. It is based directly on the suggested Boy Scout Troop Meeting from BSA. It can be found here.

December 21, 2004

Andy has finished the first draft of the new Parent Handbook for the Troop. What a great job! Much easier to read than the original, more concise, but still has all of the important information. With input from our Scoutmaster, the leadership page has been restructured. It may seen minor, but the changes reflect the direction and leadership of Troop 55.

November 29, 2004

I have posted the few pictures I have been sent from the Thanksgiving Camp Out. If anyone has other pictures, please send them to me. The Leadership section has been totally redone. A HUGE thank-you to everyone who has volunteered to serve on a committee!!! This area lists the many committee members to date. If there is an area tha you would like to serve, please let me know and I will gladly add you to the list.
There is a new form for the Campout Menu planning and campout patrol member responsibilities.

I continue to get great ideas for additions to the web page. Please let me know if there is anything that you see that would help.

November 6, 2004

New links have been added for parents. The Eleven Skills of Leadership and Youth Protection Training links have been added. Both are excellent. I highly recommend looking at the youth protection. The equipment pages have been updated. If anyone has additions or corrections, please let me know, but I think it is a reasonably good list.

Dan has added the minutes of the PLC meeting and the minutes page has been reorganized.

If anyone has new links or ideas for the web page that would be beneficial to the Troop, please let me know.

We are still waiting for ideas for each Patrol page.

October 31, 2004

New links have been added. Pictures from the camping trip to Ulfers' are posted. In the very near future, the scout activity and advancement files will be available in the secure section of our page. The Leadership page has been reorganized and is nearly finished.

Sept 30, 2004

A new section has been added to try and describe what Troop 55 is and how it operates. A page has also been added describing the procedure for a Merit Badge and the steps to complete. Pictures from the last camp out were added.

Sept 15, 2004

The activity schedule has been updated and there is an option to print the schedule as a table.

We are over the 1000 hit mark for the webpage. Not bad for only 2 months!

More links have been added.

Sept 1, 2004

The camping permission form has been reformatted and seems to print better for most. If you have a problem printing it, please let me know.

After a good suggestion at the last Committee Meeting, the minutes of the meetings will be posted in the secure part of our web page.

The photo section has been updated with great pictures from the canoe trip and I have been sent pictures from the Isle Royale trip which have been added.

Many links have been added. Check them out. There are links to Sea Base, Philmont, a Dutch Oven recipe site, an animated knot tying site among others.

Now that the web page is up and stable, Dan and Christopher will begin to take over.

August 2004

The web page is coming along well. Thank you for all of the input and ideas of how to improve our page. Many of the ideas have already been incorporated and others are in the planning stages.

July 2004

We have e-mail!! Click on the e-mail sign on the intro page.

The secure section of our Web Page is finished. All of the information on the page is well protected. We are looking at options to use the Web Page as another option to report Merit Badge and Rank Advancement activity. More to come.

We will soon be sending out an e-mail with instructions on how to get the login and password to the secure site.

Once we have parent permission slips sent out and returned, we can start adding pictures from the camping trips, summer camp, etc.

The forms page is up and running. If you need medical forms, want to be a Merit Badge Counsellor, we have your form. I hope have a copy of the camping permission form and add that to the page as well.

The parent information has been consolidated onto one page. This makes things a little easier to find.

Want to know how a Boy Scout Troop runs? Look at the Fast Start Adult Leadership Training link.

While this doesn't replace the full training session, it is a very good overview.
