Advancement Procedure
Eagle Project Process
Advancement Process:
1) Scout completes requirements (mostly applies to tenderfoot through first class).
2) Scout book is signed off.
- This is done by a registered assistant scoutmaster or a Star or higher rank scout.
3) Committee Advancement person (this is presently Susan deBuhr) is presented the scout book by the scout. Merit badges, service hours and position of responsibility are verified.
4) Advancement person notifies the scoutmaster of all scouts that are ready for conferences.
5) The scout should contact the scoutmaster and arrange a scoutmaster conference.
- Scoutmaster generally has conferences before each meeting at 6:30.
- The Scoutmaster verifies dates and signatures
- The scoutmaster signs scout spirit during the scoutmaster conference.
- Will not have conferences when we meet at other than Cedar Heights school unless pre-arranged.
6) After the scoutmaster conference is completed, the scout presents the book to the advancement person to schedule a board of review.
7) The committee gives the scout a board of review.
8) Scout is recognized at the next court of honor.
If you have come to the Scoutmaster for a conference and Susan doesn't know this short circuits the process and she is unable to keep track of the completed items.
Scouts, from this point on, if you ask for a scoutmaster conference and Susan has not given him your name he will not give a conference.
